Landscaping Upgrades at Hildale Public Library

Pergola, mister system, and benches added to library grounds

HILDALE – Hildale Public Library is receiving a landscaping revitalization this week from the Washington County Public Library system. Pride landscaping of Colorado City, Arizona is heading up the install of 80 tons of white rock and 14 thousand square feet of turf.

Additionally, Pride Landscaping is installing a hammock, benches, and has built a pergola with a misting system to keep readers cool and shaded. Hildale Public Library is currently the only Washington County library receiving the much needed landscaping, replacing the rampant desert weeds that took over until last week.

To celebrate, the library will be hosting a night of music and reading on 22 June 2018, from 5:30 – 7:00 pm. A full schedule of events, including game nights can be found on their official website. The library also plays host to local job advertisements and a community calendar.

Hildale Public Library is home to nearly 23,500 volumes, including audiobooks and films, and sponsors a series of summer reading programs for children, young adults, and adults. The public also has access to eight computers and an AEW Learning Machine with their free library card.
